Just finished my class this afternoon. It was pretty basic but kinda cool. Got taught by the nice, pleasurable, and rather attractive Missy Parkin.
Not sure how it's gonna work towards filling up youth leagues though. I mean, it's nice to train youth coaches and I like their new format…but I still wonder what they're going to do to really get kids interested.

Smokey this is not 'Nam', this is bowling. There are rules. Proud two-time winner of a bowlingboards.com weekly ball give-away!
We coach youth for free at my home center for all youth league bowlers, all done with volunteers. It's frustrating, but can be very rewarding sometimes.
Well...haters...and MWhite haters specifically...I PASSED my RVP!! Yup...apparently I am now safe to work with kids. Haven't taken the bowling test yet...thats next on the list...but I'm officially cleared via background check to work with kids.
But more importantly....MORE importantly...recently my daughter (who is spending the summer with the grandparents in Michigan) went bowling with some teenagers and I guess she beat them pretty good. They were amazed that an 11-year old was so good! Yup...proud papa!! I think I'll break down and get her her own ball when she gets back.
I'd really like to become a youth coach...that sounds like fun. But so far, the seminar seemed to point towards the garass root effort and getting more coaches in preparation...but other than "kids bowl free in the summer" I haven't seen Step 2 of this endeavor where we actually start seeing some youth leagues, etc...
