hit the gym lol you could try bringing your back swing up higher

yeah not much help from gravity from that low position... a slight pull in the backswing

well generating speed has never been my problem but you can move back on the approach and take bigger steps

Holman generated his ball speed from foot speed.

That he did. Raced/ran to foul line. Know his game better than my own. Think of anything else......also thought I read somewhere that him and Ballard had hard times when reactives came on board cuz they couldn't generate enough speed.....probably not enough speed for their revs.....just thinking out loud

The most common hindrance to developing more ball speed is a muscled armswing. When you start with the ball very low, the first movement has to be in an upward direction, and that gets the muscles involved. If you hold the ball just above waist level with the weight of the ball in the non-bowling hand, you can push the ball outward and just let it drop so that gravity can do the majority of the work. As long as your timing is not late which will again kick in the muscles, you should see an increase in ball speed.

Rob is correct but as you stated that does not feel comfortable in your stance. Pull up some you tube clips of wayne webb and look at his appraoch, that might we worth a try as far as his start and push away.

Best would be to post a vid so it be more accurate. But the thing you could try is step back a step or two from where you originally stand and on your backswing bring your swing up higher (either by holding the ball higher or or bring it up naturally). While doing this you can also increase your foot speed to generate speed and momentum to the foul line.

Remember also beagle that lack of high or even average ball speed is not a killer. You have to be more conscious about ball purchases, trying not to purchase alot of really strong earlier rolling pieces. Alot of times when you try to stray to far away from what is natural to you it can really screw you up and never really help.
