Ok I think I am back on track and I think it's going to work out even better for me. I have tons of vacation time - my daughter and Mrs. MP (who are coming to LAS with me) do not. So I think I will fly a couple of days earlier, bowl and then meet them on Thursday or something. Going to try very hard to set it in concrete and have flights / hotel booked by early next week. My Uncle might come and bowl too.

Keep working out Iceman...maybe then ya can stop throwing female 14lb equipment and step up with the big boys to 15-16lbs.

As a sidebet, thinking on the idea below...I'd like to add a Aslan/Iceman sidebet that the winner gets to choose the loser's (aka Iceman) avatar that the loser must use as his avatar for 6 months. Obviously, as Bowl1820 would elaborate on, the avatar must be family friendly, in good taste, and in compliance with the terms and code of conduct of the website.

Thus far, the tournament info is:

Wednesday, September 24th at ??:?? ?M

The current proposed location is Gold Coast Casino/Resort, Las Vegas, NV. (however, there is some suggestion of a randomized venue)

Participants:
Confirmed: Aslan, Iceman, Rob M., Mudpuppy
Possibles: Gene, Mike W, others??

FORMAT:
Standard Singles Format.
Randomly draw for bowling order or let Iceman choose as a birthday present??
4 games, first for practice, the next 3 count.
SCRATCH tournament
Players that tie will bowl a 4th game as a tiebreaker.

Other details:
Cost: Split between participants evenly.
Video: Video to be handled by either Iceman or Mudpuppy.
Rules: USBC

I'd also like to do this while the pro shop is open so prior to the tournament we can have Iceman's equipment checked for weight, size, roundness, etc... as there have been some rumors floating around Missouri that his bowling balls may not be strictly USBC compliant.

This sounds tempting.

I have to bowl at South Point in November so maybe I could call this doing research and it becomes a business expense.

One quick clarification on the rules... "Cost: Split between participants evenly."

Why do you word it that way as opposed to each participant is responsible for their own expenses?

The way you word it, if Iceman gets mad and punches a ball return doing $100 damage (to the ball return, not Iceman) all the participants would have to split the damage cost.

More likely is, if 2 people have to bowl an extra game, someone has to do the math to calculate the cost of 2 extra games divided by X number of participants.

Rob, what about Sam's Town bowling? I am hoping for a place that once I land, with my bike and trailer, I can take my 6 bagger into the hotel and park it! Then when we joist, on the lanes all I have to do is get on the elevator, and pull the bag, hopefully not too far to bowl!! Looking for a place that is bowler friendly in regards to distance I will have to pull my bowling balls. thanks Rob,,, my NEW teammate!!! LOL

You can forget doubles.

No way can my fate be determined by how well Aslan does on oil.

BTW My "Prime" was 20+ years ago.

The game is easier now so the scores remain similar even with the decline in physical ability.

Rob has the theoretical advantage by not only experiencing the conditions, but has also had the opportunity to set up his equipment for said conditions.

I'm got a couple balls I drilled for PBAE conditions, but they were just a SWAG, and the PBAE league folded after I bowled once.

PS. what are we building that will require a joist?
