About 80% of the bowlers I know found that the Fusion needs some surface. Why do you think that a weight hole will make it react better, yet consider selling it before you try a different surface?
so a few weeks ago i won the IQ fusion giveaway and i received my ball on Thursday last week, due to some travelling i could not have it drilled till Saturday night. i decided to go with 3.5x5x3 with no weight hole (weighed it on the scale last night and a balance hole will be required for legality reasons) i threw this ball with OOB surface on a fresh house shot. what i found was that this ball likes to hydroplane on oil and roll up the second it touches the dry, very early, i found playing across the center arrow and pushing it out to the 3-5 boards. it was very "squirty" and unpredictable it has a very slim margin of error and gave me the feeling of shooting on a sport pattern, it is very speed sensitive, to much and it sails into the 6, and to little and it pushes through the nose or brooklyn side. however, i saw little to no deflection off the pins, when this ball hits it HITS. i am interested to see what this ball will do after balance hole, but based on first impressions only i am not a fan of the IQ Fusion and will more than likely sell it to someone in my league![]()

Mine I keep as close to oob as I can it is the most controllable ball I have ever had
Nice smooth movement if I miss left it will hold if I miss right it will flip a little harder
It's the best ball I have ever thrown
Surface is totally dependent on a bowlers style in relation to the lane condition. I also kept mine at OOB when I had it, however, as I said, about 80% of the bowlers that I've seen throw it choose to change the surface. Frankly, the idea of considering selling a bowling ball that you don't like before trying at least three or four different surfaces on it just doesn't make any sense at all.

i'm thinking the balance hole may take the "squirtyness" off the backend, it rolls like an asymmetrical ball and i was honestly hoping for something a little more tame, i am thinking of changing the surface, but 80% of the people i know that have this ball left it OOB and love the ball, so curious what do you suggest i should alter the surface to?

A balance hole does nothing for squirtiness. In terms of surface, start with 1000 on four sides for 30 seconds at heavy pressure. Next, hit it lightly for 7-8 seconds on four sides with 2000. If that doesn't work, go for another 7-8 seconds lightly with 3000, and again at 4000 if necessary. Whatever you do, take it down to 1000 first. Don't just try to hit the polish lightly with anything. The polish has to go away to get rid of the squirty reaction. I had the same problem initially with the Brunswick Fortera Exile. I took it down to 1000, and then hit it lightly at 4000, and now I love the reaction I get.
No problem. Let us know how it works.
