    Default Ball Engraving

When you get a ball drilled, they usually ask you if you want any engraving such as name, nickname, etc. if you get engraving, what do you get? I have only gotten my name.

Well after you get your name on your first ball. Usually that's the last time you do it.

Because if you want to resell it, give it away or something, it can make it harder. (Not too many what a ball with someone elses name on it)

Sometimes though if you shoot a honor score (300, 800 etc), people will have the score (maybe the date too) engraved on the ball they did it with.

I actually got my pro shop guy to engrave "Princess Mal" on my wife's first ball...lol

But, yeah. You'll notice that most folks using higher performance equipment never have anyone's name engraved on the ball.

People used to ALWAYS engrave their initials on the ball. Why? Because every ball was black and looked identical. You'd look for initials to find your ball.

Ha! Had my initials engraved on my old S3D. It was black -- just like everyone else's, however, Mine was the only Blue Dot on the lanes, so it would have been easy to recognize amongst all the White Dots on the return... I suppose at the time I thought that's just what people did who had their own ball...

Yeah nobody really does it anymore. Had 3 hyper cells on the rack one night of league and I had to look at each one to see how mine was different, insert colors etc...

The first ball I ever bought for my wife I had engraved with "'Lil ****." She doesn't let me have balls engraved anymore. LOL

The only time I ever had a ball engraved was my first ball and it simply stated my name, Joe. I thought of getting my girlfriends ball engraved with her nickname, Snowflake. Considering it is a polyester ball and it will most likely not be resold because it can be her spare ball when she starts getting into using higher level balls.
