Thread: Spare Ball Question

    Default Spare Ball Question

So I am looking to get a spare ball, and I wanted to know some opinions from more-informed people. Is one spare ball different from another in terms of brand/throwing style/etc? I don't care about the look of it right now, I'm just not sure where to start looking for one. Thanks!

Typically when someone is referring to a spare ball they are talking about a Plastic (polyester) ball.

Basically they are all the same, plastic covers and pancake weight blocks.

There are only a very few that have minor differences like a dynamic core (a core that would make it hook some) they cost a little more.

A Columbia White Dot is a popular one or a Maxim and are fairly cheap.

If you only intend to use it for spares whatever is cheap works fine. If you intend to use it occasionally as a strike ball you might want to look at something like the Hammer Taboo Spare that has a full weight block.

Yeah you're better off with any spare ball, no matter the brand or look, etc. For instance, I have a solid white ball (brunswick white viz-a-ball) to be exact. Sure it's one plain color, but so what? A spare ball's a spare ball. lol(:
    My bowling balls include:
Brunswick Brute Strength, Brunswick Mastermind Genius, DV8 Endless Nightmare, DV8 Diva, DV8 Diva Pearl, DV8 Marauder Mutiny, & Brunswick White Viz-A-Ball spare ball
