Nothing says good like a full house hope we get at least one league full this year
Well the organizational meeting for my winter league was tonight, fortunately it went quick.
The house raised the cost of the Playpass, it went up to $20 a month for unlimited open bowling. So still a killer deal!
Plus the house gave me $36 on my Reward card for having bowled league last year
The local Assoc. was there and had pictures of the awards they were providing, some looked really nice.
League costs stayed the same as last year (even though lineage went up), USBC Sanction Fee $17, League Fee $15 and sponsor Fee $24.
The league went with the 36 week season again like we had last year, which was baffling because normally it's 34 weeks. Last year we added on the two extra weeks to just accommodate the house, because they were adjusting their schedules to match the others in the chain. But it wasn't needed this year, so baffling as to why everyone wanted to bowl those two extra weeks, oh well.
Rest stayed the same: Split season, Handicap 90% of 230 and the point system (7 point system, 2 pts. per game, 1 for total) etc.
Looks to be a full house again (32 teams), even had a team on waiting list I believe.
Well back at it.

Well winter league is fubar now!
The league was full , but my team was short two people the house was going to find us some.
So instead of that they send a message after just a couple of days, wanting me and sandie to give up the spot (because I've held the franchise for 20 years) so they can give it to a full team.
The thing is they had extra people at the meeting and put them on other teams and left mine for last.
So I have to find someone fast, which is almost impossible. We cant bowl togather on another night because of her work.
So Will have to see about going to another house, which of course are much farther away.

That's really annoying. By luck of the draw they left you last so your team gets blown up? Why can't they split the "new" team up and tell them that there's room for 2 of them? Man, that's pretty rough considering you're a returning league member who's had loyalty.
That's kinda crappy that you were asked to leave. Especially with such a long tenure. My house has the playpass and rewards card, as well. Do you bowl at a Pin Chasers?

Yes I'm at PC east (Zephyrhills) which one you at?
Since I hold the franchise the house can't make me go, I got to give it up.
If it comes to it my partner said she is okay not bowling, which would free me up to go as a single. Several leagues need singles around.
I'm checking at some other houses, but getting a couple in is hard going.
Springhill lanes might be possible, I got to talk to the sec. on a league. it's a drive but they just put in brand new lanes

I'm at PC Veterans. I basically grew up there. I've been in at least one league there every year (except one) since I was 8 years old.
I'm about 5 months recovered from wrist surgery which cut my season short last year. So, I'm chomping at the bit to get started. Well, just found out today (league starts Tues) that at least one guy isn't returning and another, the team captain, may not either. I've bowled with them for 5 years, they're great guys but I wish they would've given me a heads up, you know? That leaves me with 2 other guys that are cool but if I had my choice I'd rather bowl with someone else. I'll find out soon enough but I might be a one man show.
Like you said though, someone will have room for a single. I hope we both can find a team. Good luck.

UPDATE: We're back on for bowling Tuesday!!
I went down to tell them I'd give up the spot, Told them how we can't bowl together on another night due to Sandie's schedule.
Andrew the manager Said he didn't want to lose us since we have been there so long. Said he'd talk to the other team and see if they could change and bowl on Monday night. Then give me a call if there was a change.
After that I went to the snack bar to get a drink and stop to talk to Drew (The PSO), while I was talking Andrew came up said it was worked out. They'd bowl on Monday and we we're good to stay and he said they work on finding us two more people.
