Thread: need help with ball selection!

Default need help with ball selection!

I have a Hyper Cell that I used on heavy oil, an Optimus I use on when the Hyper Cell is too much, then I have this huge gap when the lanes dry up, I have a White Dot I use as a spare ball. Need suggestions for a ball to fill the gap between Optimus and White Dot..I am a tweener, speed about 15.5. I like Storm, Motiv, and Roto Grip. Any body?

I'm relatively new as a bowler and just building my own arsenal. One of the most versatile balls I own was my first, the Ebonite Cyclone. It is supposed to be a Medium-Dry ball, but I think its stronger than that. I have a fusion and optimus that both play similar conditions well. I struggle with them on Dry lanes and the Cyclone works a bit more predictably. It comes 4000 Grit, so I may bring it up to a 1500 Polish to help it play the REALLY dry better. For the money though, the Cyclone is tough to beat.

Hmm. Motiv: Ascent. That's a good dry lane ball.

You might also look at Motiv's Ascent Apex. It's a little stromger off the spot than the Ascent pearl

Sorry I just can not get behind Motiv equipment
as I just can not get motivated.

Here is a few suggestions with Storm equipment

    1. Storm Punch Out
    2. Storm Tropical Breeze (Reactor Hybrid)
    3. Storm Super Natural (Hybrid Urethane)

    Roto Grip equipment

    1. Roto Grip Wrecker ( Hybrid Reactive)
    2. Roto Grip Uproar

thank you for the reply, never thrown Motiv equipment. I was looking at the Uproar at a local pro shop and the pro said that it was much stronger than advertised and said it would be very close to my Optimus, allthow the wedsite had me interested. I need something for broken down lanes, I asked him about the Punch Out, he said the same thing, too strong, so, that why Im asking you guys for opinions, very much appreciated.

    If you like

    storm tropical breeze

    Rotogrip Scream Shout

I agree with your driller the uproar is much stronger than advertised. Haven't seen anyone throwing the punch out/wipe out yet so can't comment on those.

Storm Pitch Black might not be a bad idea either. Urethane, I've seen a couple people throwing it on burnt lanes with success (moderate rev guys, not crankers)
