    Default Changin Pro Shops

I had a ball drilled at my bowling center. I usually got them drilled elsewhere but did it there more for a time crunch type of thing. In any case, that was a mistake. The driller was a younger kid, but when he drilled it, it left an indent around the thumb hole at certain areas an the slug was uneven. After bowling with it for awhile, my thumb keep having the skin rub apart, resulting in pealing skin and a little pain. I also had to grab the ball more as the hole was to big. I heard of another place about 20 minutes away who did a great job. Several people get the balls done there, so I went there today. The guy was very welcoming, nice guy. He saw the issue right away and told me everything he would do. He even measured my hand and said the span was a little off. I mentioned how I had a different guy drill it compared to the guy I usually do. I showed him my Optimus and he said how that was drilled was a little weak as a ball like the Optimus should be drilled a little stronger. As I told him I bought it online, he said some guys are known to do a quick drilling if a ball is brought to them rather than bought from them. I'm not sure if that was the case for the guy who drilled my other balls but makes sense. In any case, I am a big fan of customer service. Like I said, this guy had a good rep, very personable, friendly, didn't rush me, answered very thing I asked and even backed his work saying if any problems ever, bring back and he'll fix for free. For the ball, he put in a new slug which fit better and it even covered up the indentations as well as cleaned the ball.

Good Customer Service is the key. Once you find a shop and staff that take care of you, you're in good hands. Sometimes it's hard to find that. All shops want to make money, but my money goes to the shop and staff I choose and trust. Sounds like you are on the right track with this new guy!

I actively searched for a pro shop when the young guys at my local center only asked, "what do you want the ball to do", knowing most people just want the ball to skid-flip. Sorry, had enough of that and spending $200 on a bowling ball.

Found a shop that cares about you as a bowler, and improving your game. Seeing how you roll the ball, and what ball will fit your arsenal. Not just trying to sell the "Newest and Greatest" ball on the market that is "SO" much different than the ball before it.

Bolmer that's good that you have found a shop you like. I have a pro shop here that I like to use. He is cool if I buy the ball on line there or just Drop in with one I have won online he also has done some coaching for me. Always takes time to watch me bowl and address any problems. A lot of times he has stopped me from buying a ball and explained why. Some times the ball
Is not right for me and some times he has me work on my bowling before he will sell or drill a ball. Saves me from wasting money.

My pro shop guy has kept me from making some dumb mistakes. Definitely wants to see his clientele succeed and gain enjoyment from the game.
