Thread: looking for a 3rd ball

Default looking for a 3rd ball

I am looking to get a bowling ball for Christmas and I'm not really sure what to get, right now the 2 balls I have are the Brunswick meanstreak brawler and the storm optimus. They are both pretty strong balls but don't really hook much with my low to medium rev rate, should I get a ball stronger than the optimus or maybe a weaker ball that I can play straighter than my brawler? I usually only bowl during open bowling and league so they won't be thrown in tournaments much until next year when I'm out of the youth league. I'm trying to stay away from balls like the hammer bad a** since they will be pretty expensive at my bowling alley I'm going to buy from

Default A GREAT place to check out..

go to bowlingball.com and take a look! Use the compare guide its a GREAT TOOL to use selecting a ball. You can't beat the prices, no tax, and free delivery. Good luck!! drilling around here is on average about 35 bucks depending on what extra's you want to incorporate into the ball!

use the compare, it lets you put 3 balls together, for comparison!

It is a must for me to buy from my local bowling alley since it is $60 to drill if not bought from them. I have been messing around with different balls on bowlingball.com. I might see how much the pyramid path pearl ball is at my alley since that looks like a pretty strong ball (never tried a sanded ball though)

lower rev players perform really well with pearlized equipment, maybe try looking in that direction. the black widow assassin is an amazing ball, also the hammer arson low flare, both are highly under rated.

How much does your driller charge to drill a ball you bought from him?

Personally I charge the same $45 for a ball you bring in, as for a ball you buy from me.

And the prices I charge for the ball are usually less than you can find online.

The bonus is if the ball cracks under warranty, I replace the ball, and re-drill for no charge.

If you bring me a ball and it cracks, you send it back to where you bought it, then I charge again to drill it.

Nothing, it is free drilling and free adjustments later on if you buy it with them. They charge more for the ball though.

If you got to buy from him then I would recommend looking into the Hy-road pearl or the Pyramid Chosen path..... As mentioned above the Black Widow Assassin is a nice ball that may work well for you also.

The black widow assassin is an awesome ball, but unfortunately it is around $220-$250 from them xD I have to get a 3 ball bag as well for $70 so I can't go too high

I can tell you from experience that the Chosen Path Pearl is avery strong ball. With my slower ball speed (12.8mph) I had to change the surface to 3000 plus polish unless i wanted to start the night standing in the left gutter. It is a great ball for the money
