Understand wanting to use a plastic ball on a Sport shot, but on a house condition, just use your normal strike ball to take out left side spares.

    This is what I do:
For a 7 pin stand at about 10, and my only target is 10 board(2nd arrow), let the ball hook into the 7 pin.

Adjust 3-5 boards left with feet for 4 pin, another 3-5 boards left with feet for 2 pin.

I don't get too much finger in the ball and just let the ball take over. As long as you know what your ball is going to do on the house shot, you will be fine.

Adjust for Sport Conditions depending on the length of the pattern.

I agree vdub, i only use my spare ball for right side conversions on a typical house type condition. When i'm on a tougher pattern that has less defined and consistent friction then i use my spare ball for most everything.

For some reason I really struggle using my strike ball for left side spares I'm tracked it for a few weeks after getting my spare ball 7 pin strike ball 55% 7 pin spare ball 89%. I stand on 1 and throw across the secon arrow it looks weird but works for me

It really comes down to what is comfortable and works the best for each person. Even some pros will play spares with some degree of hook.
