I feel your pain!!!! It's a sad day indeed when ever a bowling lane closes,,, so many memories and fun times that won't happen again at those establishments... I mess my AMF that I bowled at a bunch!!
Just learned a few minutes ago they are closing the doors at my home alley effective immediately. It's a sad day for my entire family as we all bowl there. I knew they were having problems but I didn't expect this to happen so soon and business seemed to be improving for them the last few weeks too little to late I guess. I have bowled at these lanes since I was 9 years old and have been friends with the owners and employees there for a long time. I'm not sure what is going to happen with the leagues yet. it is such a sad day.

Yes that is sad news indeed is it a independently owned center
or one of the AMF bowlmor/bowless owned centers?
Maybe if it is a independently owned center someone with deep
pockets will come through and buy it and keep it open.
This seems to be the new trend now days it is like lets close down
all the bowling centers in the United States so no one will have a
thing to do anymore.

Wow another piece of history lost it's looking like the only way
we will be able to bowl anymore in the future is if you have a
game console like a Wii or PS4.
I just wish that I had deep pockets like Bill Gates or those other
rich guys/gals I'd go around buying up all of the bowling centers
that was in trouble and or closing down and keep them all open.

That is bad news. Our AMF closed before our leagues started. That is kind of bad to close after the leagues start. I am liking the new Brunswick house we bowl in now. Both of my bowling balls seem to work better here on the alleys.
Arsenal: Raw Hammer Orange/Black Hybrid 14lbs, Blue Hammer urethane 14lbs, Columbia 300 Lava Ball Plastic 14lbs, Highest scratch series 710 Bowling 38 years Never hit that 300 game. Highest game 276, had 11 strikes and one spare in the middle of that game.
hopefully someone else might buy the lanes and reopen them! If its for sale, advertise it on Crags list,,, put word out that a 12 lane bowling alley built in the 40s, established, is up for sale!!
Find out if they are interested in saleing it???? How much ect... GET THE WORD OUT BEFORE ITS TOO LATE!!!
Save an Alley!!!!

We had one that is near us that closed, and it just got reopened by a new owner, and it is honestly better. You never know what can happen. We never thought that the lanes closest to us would open again but it did and its better than before..
Get the word out man, and see if someone if interested in buying it. Even getting a group together to lease the building until you can find someone might be worth looking into.
COOL,,,, SAVE an alley.... Glad your re-opened!!! Even more cool that they put some money in it and made it even better!! If I thought I could have saved mine, but putting the word out I would have in A HEART BEAT!!
But it had a leasing clause that would not allow it to be used as a bowling alley, and frankly AMF wanted it closed so that we would all go 4 miles to NKC AMF.
Some of the bowlers did move to the NKC AMF, other went to various other lanes!
