Default marijuana use and the NFL

The Cleveland Browns have their best receiver back after serving a 10 game suspension following getting busted for failing a drug test. He tested positive, albeit barely by the NFL's own standards, for marijuana. As for myself, I don't care if a player uses weed in the off season, or even during the first few days after a game if it dulls the pain. Just don't show up for a game blitzed out of your mind.
What do think about marijuana use for football players?

I have no problem with it, furthermore its only a matter of time until its dropped from the banned substances list - its already legal in three cities with NFL teams - Denver, Seattle, and now DC, so I don't see how you can regulate it any differently than alcohol use.

That's a valid point, zdawg. I'm sure those states that have legalized marijuana use have made it harder for the NFL to enforce their rules against marijuana.

Well, the Browns won, but after watching how that game ended with bad clock and time-out management, I'm wondering if coaches should be checked for smoking weed. Both teams need schooled on when to use their time-outs.

At the end of the day it's against league rules and the law even if allowed by a state or city still against federal law. Your getting paid millions of dollars to play a game and you can't bother yourself to follow the rules I can only say one thing #idiot

Don't you JUST wish that all branches of our government had to have random drug testing also, including the president! I am sure LAWS would change if that were the case.

What's good enough for the duck is good enough for the............

We have lost the war on drugs, and it cannot be won! I wish we put 1,000,000th of the money we waste on putting people in jail, and used that money to HELP people with Drug Problems!!

ICEMAN has never used any form of drug, and doesn't even drink, but our current system is a utter, failure, and tragic!!!

Tell me how drinking alcohol to excess does less damage then smoking a joint! I rest my case!

Again,,, ICEGOD does not need either, but many times I laugh to myself while looking at this F#cked Up World, and wonder if it would not be a better place if leaders just settled back and had a joint , once in a while LOL LOL

Oh the war on drugs could be won we just don't have the balls to do what it would take to win it. Mandatory 6 month treatment program first offense possession and six months probation with community service (not talking about talking to kids actual labor in the community), Second offense a year in jail. If your caught dealing death penalty not 10 years in prison and hundred trials they just take you out back and put a bullet in you. Problem solved in about 2 years.

Ouch,,, Since alcohol is a Drug, lets apply the same method above to drinkers too!!!!! Alcohol does more damage, and kills more people then all the drugs together! Let's also apply it to doctors that give pain medications to patients for recreational use.

wouldn't bother ICEGOD,,, I don't do either. but seems rather harsh for simply putting a substance in your own body! Prisons are now privatized, and huge money making machines! Full of people who simple need HELP, rather then imprisonment, costing us billions of dollars.

In reality the war on drugs, like all wars, is all about MAKING MONEY!!

I am sure if Jesus was walking the streets today, he would say HELP them, not put them in prison!
