Worst thing to see next to "Looking for" is "I have little to no money".

The good news is…they can still be found new (16#) for around $59. You can also order entire lots of Slingshots for like $20/ball but you gotta order like 10 of em. Because the Slingshot was retired awhile ago…your best bet is a used one on Ebay:

The Strike King is the replacement for the Slingshot. It is just slightly stronger, but definitely in the same range.

From what little I've seen of the Strike King (because I think it kinda has bombed in terms of sales)...it seems like the Slingshot was longer and more angular than the Strike King. I haven't looked it up, but in terms of ball motion, I'd bet the Slingshot cover stock is a bit more aggressive than what they put on the Strike King in terms of "skid/flip". The Strike King seems to be a smoother motion (although more overall hook).

I'm not saying either are "skid/flip" nor angular nor aggressive at all...but I've been pleasantly surprised with the Slingshot in terms of an entry level < $60 ball that really reacts well to dry. MY problem with it has been trying to use it too early, before the lanes/pattern has really broken down at all...or, trying to use it when there's significant carrydown from plastic balls up the right side. Without a nice dry area in front of the pins...the Slingshot hits pretty weak. But when it hits dry...man...it bounces more than any ball in my arsenal. It definitely saves up energy and grabs the dry...but it has to be VERY dry or very short.

I know it's not more popular. I've yet to see someone throwing a Strike King on the lanes.

I've sold more Strike Kings than Slingshots.

I would expect that...given the Slingshot is no longer for sale. Are you saying you've sold more Strike Kings TOTAL than you sold Slingshots TOTAL??

Again, I can only go by what I see at the various lanes...I've yet to see someone throwing a Strike King. In fairness, I've only see a couple Slingshots.

I don't know about sales but looks wise I like the strike kings much better.

See...I disagree. The Slingshot came in lots of cool colors...the Strike King is like a solid color ball. It's kinda plain looking.

And I gotta admit...for a $57 ball...the Slingshot has a decent amount of backend. I switched to it Wednesday on some dry lanes I was practicing on and it seems to have more snap on the back end than my Columbia300 Encounters...which at one time were the pro level staple ball of the Columbia line. I'm sure if I had more revs...the Encounters would work better...but that Slingshot easily has the most angular snap of my arsenal. A poor man's "skid/flip" ball if you will.
