I was looking at the Melee Cross. Looks like a good ball!

I like what I like what I'm reading about the Hysteria.

    I would say...either a Brunswick Edge II...or a Storm Crux.

But the Crux might be more than $150 because it smells like a fruit or something. The Edge II just smells like an old man's coat closet.

The Brunswick Edge II was a urethane ball that was produced in 1983! It would probably cost more than $150 just as a curiosity/collectors item.

I'm not married to any particular brand. Nor do I want to spend money just to spend money. Just interested to see something that performs well in heavy oil. My current ball's sweet spot seems to be somewhere between light and medium.
The Hammer Bad A$$ is a "it" ball because it just dropped It performs really well in Medium Oil, but I would not recommend it for really heavy oil.

Without knowing the specifics of your delivery it's hard to recommend anything.
But in my experience picking up one of last years releases is a financially sound decision

You can get some of last years $200 balls for 125-175 if you work with your pro-shop and aren't too specific when it comes to brand. We have one proshop here that will take equipment as trade-in and resell it pretty inexpensively once re-drilled.

    Shhh…

I always answer these questions ridiculously because at the end of the day they are ridiculous questions.

    1) Balls don't matter much. Get one that it is round and reactive and you're good.
    2) Improvement of a release or swing…HUGELY more impactful than buying a new $150 ball. HUGELY!!

So…it DOESN'T MATTER. But rather than say all that…I just recommend random balls…which is about as helpful as everyone else recommending balls they "like".

for #1 it depends on how you throw the ball as to how much the ball matters. for me, being very rev dominant.... believe me the ball matters

#2 I agree throwing the ball better will help more than anything you can buy unless you're trying to throw plastic on 26 units or something crazy like that

Aslan, I find it very hard to believe that the difference between an ebonite cyclone and roto-grip hysteria is negligible. I know you didn't exactly say that, but saying the ball you use"doesn't matter" kind of implies that. I mean, yeah, if you're throwing them in the gutter, it's negligible, and of course form matters, but if the ball "didn't matter" wouldn't everybody be throwing cheap-o balls and not messing around with surface adjustments?
