Yeah, if we could throw it like rash that would be good.

Hi, Here are 2 more videos from my Wednesday night league. I tanked this week, 220, 178, 179. I taped these right after my league. From what I can try and pick out, I seem to be doing something right at the ball release. Not sure if it's bending at the waist, or trying to throw it too hard, but I know I was missing the pocket too early and/or jerking the ball across the lane hitting the opposite side. The night before this, using the same 2 balls, I hit my high score of 270. If anyone has a few minutes to spare and see's something that might help me get back on track it would be appreciated.

Lots of good information. I'm reading all of these types of threads and dealing with the same problems. My wife video'd me and at release, I'm on top of the ball.

From what I can see, you are never behind the ball; you start on the side and end up on top. You are also still trying to lift the ball to try and make it hook. A modern release does not lift. It simply starts with the hand behind the ball and lets the hand turn through the ball, feeling it on the palm of the hand at the base of the index finger and middle ring finger. One or two lessons with a certified coach (at least Silver Level) should get you on the right track.

That release looks like the old me. With your hand being rotated so much im sure you track around the thumb and the top track lane near the fingers is way off to the side. Just take some practice and work on it if it doesn't fix and you become frustrated you could try a sarge easter grip. The grip will help you stay behind the ball. Since you say both balls are about past its time, you can plug on of the ring fingers and try this.

Also if that is you track line from what i mentioned above you could be having layout issues on a ball. When I had my 6 1/2 almost 7 pap when I released like that, getting a ball layout was critical. Lots of balls didnt hook as much as I wanted. (most shops use a 5 pap and 1/2 up or down. as a default).

Anyways talk to you local shop guy have him check your track line, see if he has any suggestions.
