Default most strikes without breaking 200 for me.....

Actually, I didn't break 190 either. Just to show how fun this game is, let me explain games 1 and 3. Game 1, 7 strikes = 235. Game 3, 7 strikes = 214. Game 2 , 8 strikes = 182. That includes throwing TWO Turkeys that game.
What happened the other four frames? 4-9 split, 4-7-10 split, 3-10 split, 7-10 split. No conversions. 8 strikes, 4 splits/open frames.

Last week I threw 8 (4 to start) for a nice 207. Last year my buddy threw 8 in a game for a 188 (turkey then a gutter-9, along with 2 other really poorly timed splits). You managed to one up both of those It's super frustrating when you're off just enough so that you end up leaving a split if you don't strike... but hey, I think it makes better bowlers of us in the long run to learn from nights like those.

The lanes were tough. My 631 was the highest series for both teams combined . One teammate had to have had 15 different splits over three games. He shot 411. No one shot over 650 in the entire house. They.changed the oil pattern to begin the second half. There's 6 more feetof oil . I've been averaging over 200 since they added oil, but I'm a stroker and it's helped get to the pocket. I only moved 4 boards left for the night.

I always feel dissatisfied after throwing a game with nothing but opens and strikes.

Not quite what you were asking, but last week I threw an 8 bagger only to end up with a disappointing (all things considered) 246 .

How you ask? I left an open in the first and last frame, both solid pocket hits, both 10 pin leaves, both times so pissed off I completely whiffed after having not missed a single 10 pin in weeks

No matter how frustrating this game gets, we all keep going back, don't we? I would just take a clean game!

This leads to the question would you prefer the 180-190 game with numerous strikes but untimely splits or the 190 clean game where you couldn't buy a strike and just 9-spared your way through. I think I would prefer the clean game but both are frustrating and can lead to nights that feel like they never end. But on those nights when it all comes together, the clean games, the strings of strikes, the monster games and series, that's why we keep coming back!

I'd much prefer a clean game. I get more frustrated when I string together a bunch of strikes, then split... then strikes, then split for a 190 because I know it's more just having bad shots when your normal throw is "on". It's knowing the coulda-been if you could get your head on right!

Well, I shot a 192 tonite with two opens. Two less opens, ten more pins, only three strikes. No splits. Still frustrating.
