Sorry to hear about this thought and prayers to his and your family and friends.
February 7th, around 3pm, I was witness to a good friend being laid to rest. His name was Steve Kinty, proprietor of Turkeyfoot Lanes, where I am bowling now, and where my bowling started when I was a kid. Steve was a member of the PBA, coached the local high school and local College bowling teams, plus coached high school girls softball.
He made everyone he met feel like they were his best friend. Honest as the day is long, and a great family man. He was only 59, yet he was married to his wife Robin for 40 years. His kids are great, hard-working people with kids of their own.
He wasn't there when I threw my 300 in his house, but two weeks later he came in and hunted me down. He shook my hand and congratulated me on throwing a 300 on " the toughest pair of lanes in the house ". It was the last time I ever talked to him, as his health spiraled quickly downhill as the cancer he had won the fight. He had cancer two other times and it had gone into remission. Not this time.
I will really miss him. I knew him for 30 years. I bowled with him and against him, golfed with him, and had some great talks about life in general when I was growing up. He always treated me well . It's not fair to lose a guy like this so young. At least he is no longer in pain.
Sorry to hear about this thought and prayers to his and your family and friends.
Condolences I lost a friend to pancreatic cancer just a few weeks ago that I've know for almost 30 years. One of the few people I know who spends more time in bowling alleys than me. Best wishes to friends and families
Thanks guys. Steve loved bowling. I remember how excited he was when he got possession of Turkeyfoot Lanes. I'm afraid the doors will close forever after all the leagues end this spring.
Sorry to hear of your loss of a dear friend it is always hard
to see them go.
