After using the house ball for a while to get my throw under control, I bought the Ebonite Magnum for $50 at Dick's Sporting Goods and I have to say that this ball is really doing what it needs to do. On slicker lanes, I don't get as much hook as I would want, but on drier lanes, this ball has an amazing reaction. The pin action using this ball is wonderful, pins flying in all sorts of directions, and most of the time, takes out those annoying 9 and 10 pins for you.

All in all, a great ball for beginners, and a handy spare ball for those more experienced bowlers.
