Venom Panic - Kevin's Review and Ball Motion Video
The latest in the Venom series, the Panic pairs the reliable low RG Gear core with a new medium strength Pearl Cover. The Panic gets through the heads a bit cleaner than the Venom Shock, but still has that trademark smooth transition through the hook phase. The best way I can think to describe it is that the Panic tumbles forward through the pin-deck, keeping the pins low. For some bowlers, this type of motion on the back end can look a bit unusual to the eye at first. A real sharp angular snap can be real pretty to look at, but many times that’s not what’s going to yield you the highest scores. When the Panic moves on the back end, it has a slightly flatter trajectory, which can significantly improve my carry percentage when I’m playing in the track area to the 4th arrow.
Here is a video I made that compares the Venom Panic to the Venom Shock, Jackal, Forza, Revolt Vengeance and Ascent on Kegel’s Bourbon Street Pattern.
When building even a small tournament or league arsenal, you NEED to have a low RG, med/low differential piece in your bag. I can’t over emphasize the importance of having a variety of hook shapes available to you - so you’re always splitting the 8-9 through to the pit. I tend to gravitate towards pearl covers, so the Panic is a perfect choice to fill the role for me.
