    Hi guys...
Just started bowling seriously a few months ago and was hoping to get some thoughts/advice/critique on my game. Would be much appreciated. I'm still pretty much working on all parts of my game. I play down and in and my avg has steadily been increasing but would like to get some feedback.
This is my first time uploading so let me know if you need any other info. (I wasn't able to get a side view that day)
These are two separate shots filmed from behind. First is real time and second is slow motion.

That's one hell of a first step crossover! I'd fall on my face.

Not bad considering you have just started.

haha yeah, I think I took it to the extreme. And it does take me about 4 boards right but I seem to be doing it consistently. After seeing video of it, I think it might be messing with my 2nd step though and could lead to timing issues?

    and thanks!

I'm no expert but I think you should be looking for more of a balance beam step on the first step than the large cross over you are using also looks like you are staring the ball a little late after your first step has landed try and start the ball and the first step at the same time. Pretty good form for only a couple of months though.

    Thanks Amyers!

Yes, I think I will be working on getting that first step more in front of me instead of crossing over so much. I think it might help w/ balance, alignment as I walk, and consistency in my approach.

I have been experimenting with the push away and when to start it. I had a tendency to get early w/ my swing or felt rushed, so that is why I started going w/ a little later push away. Perhaps, I should attack the early timing issue in a different part of the approach/swing though?

Did someone say large, akward cross-over step??

    I resemble that remark.

I thought it looked pretty good. I only noticed that you drifted right...again, as a result of not correcting for the crossover step...and thats probably why you came in light and left the 3-pin. IMO.

Technique? Since when do leftys need that?

You may find that when you reduce the cross over that it speeds your feet up enough to allow the earlier start without feeling rushed. If not you can always speed the feet up a little. I'm a big believer in that the feet match the swing not the other way around.

lol Thanks Aslan. Yep, definitely drifted right a few boards...but I am consistent with that and adjust aim accordingly. If I remember that particular shot correctly, I either missed my mark left a little or I had a weak release where I came up the side of the ball and it just took too long to read the lane or little of both.

Hey, I'm just trying to see what happens when I combine my freakish left-handedness with good technique!

Good point Amyers! Makes sense to me and I'll give it a shot. Kind of brings up another one of my issues though...with my current release and relatively low revs, I would tend to get a little too speed dominant. And I know that the feet tend to control the speed...

    haha true true...

Well, I can work on one thing at a time...but I want to know everything that I can about the physical game. Helps me when I know how each piece works together.
