Is the Crux drilled pin-up or pin-down? Same question for the Tour IQ and Victory Road.
I have to say, this is the first I've ever heard of a Crux getting less hook than other balls.
Have you had all the balls drilled at the same center?

Needless to say alot has changed since I stopped bowling 25 years ago. When I retired, urethane was just coming out (The Angle) and plastic was the ball that would hook (more than rubber).
I've put together an aresenal over the last year as follows:
Storm IQ Tour Pearl
Storm Victory Road
Storm Super Natural
Storm Black Ice (plastic spare ball)
Since I plan on bowling in a sport league over the summer, I wanted to buy a more agressive ball than anything I currently owned, so I bought a Crux. I used it in normal league conditions and was really dissapointed. I got more hook out of my Tour IQ and Victory Road and the Crux hit soft like a marshmallow.
I have yet to throw more than a few frames with it. Should it be agressive out of the box? Could I be doing something wrong or could it have been drilled incorrectly?
I know these are vague questions, but I saw the ball got great reviews and am suprised at the passiveness of this ball.
I currently average 192. I'm 55 years old, left handed and consider myself a tweener by todays standards.

Most of the time when someone say's their "weaker" ball is stronger than their "strong" ball. It's because the lanes are too dry for the "strong" ball, it's burning up and probably rolled out by the time it hits the pins. That's most likely why it's hitting like a marshmallow.
The Crux is a low RG, high differential asymmetrical with a Hybrid cover a 3000 grit sanded surface, which would be for more oilier conditions.
The IQ Tour pearl and Victory Road are both Symmetrical pearls with a 1500 polished surface, Which are more for Medium to medium dry conditions.
So given that the IQ & Vic. road are working, it's likely too dry where your trying to play it.

They are all pin up. The Crux was drilled at a different center.

Do you know what your pap (positive axis point) is? If not is your initial oil line on your ball fairly close to your fingers and thumb or pretty far away? Ball speed? The other 2 balls are symmetrical so they usually tend to be more even rolling and pick up sooner in comparison to like drilled and similar aggressiveness asymmetrical. The mass bias is way over so based on that it will tend to roll later. For me personally i never like pin up on asymmetrical because they tend to be inconsistent. For someone with a higher rev rate that drill would really produce a lot of skid flip. If you are not seeing enough back end with the crux try opening up your angles up a little more to see the friction earlier. That will allow the ball to get in to a roll earlier. You could also try taking the surface down to 2000, that will help it pick up earlier as well. Asymmetrical balls can really produce big reactions down lane but can be flaky as well. It's not like the old days when if a ball was too strong it just hooked too much. With the strength of todays covers and cores, and the flare potebtial there is created by these cores the most likely problem is not enough oil for the ball. As a result the ball expends too much energy too early and is DOA when it gets to the poc ket. You can either sssssssssssssssssssssssssssaave the ball to use when there is more oil, or change to a finer grade finish to save some enerfy.
Still love the game but had to quit because of my left leg amptation
