    Default Handicap scoring

I kind of understand the basic concepts of handicap scoring.

There is a local Amateur Tour here that posts their tournaments on YouTube and is a handicap tour, not scratch. They qualify on Saturdays and top 5 play for the trophy on Sunday. I believe it is limited to 225 or less avg bowlers.

I do notice when they start the stepladder tournament some of the handicaps are 50+. Maybe even 70+. That is quite a hurdle to overcome. What happens if one scores 300? Do they still lose if they other person gets 240 and has a 70 handicap?

Yes, scores would include handicap. Keep in mind, your handicap is figured in also. If they were a +70 and you were a +30, you would be ging them 40 pins/game.

Yeah, that would be my concern. Watch a 100 handicap bowler come in and get 300 games to win the title
