With the abbreviated PBA Tour format, many of you have expressed an interest in being able to see more professional bowling. Yesterday and today, here in Las Vegas, the PBA Western Region held a member/non-member doubles events. Qualifying was yesterday, with match play and finals today. As there are no National Tour events going on right now, some of the National Tour stars on hand for the tournament included: Stuart Williams, Michael Haugen Jr., Jake Peters, Mike DeVaney, Eric Forkel, and Josh Blanchard. Scoring was outrageous, with one non-member, a lefty from Arizona averaging 270 for the eight games of qualifying! My good friend, ball driller, teammate, and golf partner, Mike Tucker, partnered with Haugen. They were +461 for eight games, to claim the last-cash check.

Regional Tournaments are less formal than National Events, they are free to watch, and they are small enough that you can get an up-close look at your favorite stars. Check out the Regional schedule on the PBA website to find a tournament near you. You won't be disappointed.

    Thanks for posting, Rob.

Looks like this is the only one near me--it sounds like a heck of a time.
