High school bowling teams?

High School bowling is doing ok here in Middle Tennessee. My daughter will be bowling on the team in about 2 years.

A lot of high schools here in Las Vegas have bowling teams. Back when I was a middle school teacher and on the Board of the local USBC Assn., I contacted the school district to offer our services in terms of putting on a clinic for high school bowling coaches. I was very curtly informed that they didn't need any help from us as their bowling coaches already knew how to coach from their experience in coaching other sports such as basketball. I guess there's a special skill set involved in learning how to read the oil pattern on a basketball court. Oh well, we tried!

High school bowling didn't exist when I was in school, but it's doing ok now . There were many more centers open when I was younger, so one center can be the " home court " of 10 different school systems. We had YABA traveling leagues where each center picked an All-Star team from their Saturday youth program. I was on the team all thru high school, and team captain for 2 years.

And I have noticed that high school girl teams are LOUD! Seem to celebrate every single shot some games, especially Baker-style games.

Your not kidding about that for sure. You should watch some of the college events, those teams get really loud.
