Imagine a lane with a random, criss-crossed pattern of oil, nearly all the way to the pins. That's what you had after the first game as a result of your son rolling a plastic ball and banking it off of the bumpers.
Shot a 201 my first game, then things went downhill from there.
We were using bumpers for my 10 year old son, and he actually beat me the last game. He rolled a bumper-assisted 147, which bested my lousy 133.

Have to agree with Rob here. If someone is bumper bowling put them on a separate lane if at all possible. I bowled with my two nephews once and had a very similar experience.

Interesting. I never thought of that. Have a bowled a few times with bumpers on but it was just for fun so not a real concern.
