    Default Another Arsenal Question

So, I now have the Storm Rocket (thanks, BowlingBoards.com) in addition to the Hammer Bad Intentions. I'm ordering a spare ball today.

My question is, where to next?

In theory, I have a good heavy oil ball (BI), and a good ball for when things dry out (Rocket).

Would it be smarter to go for another heavier oil ball with a different profile (like the Black Widow), or look at a ball for lighter oil (LT-48, etc)?

Do you see more heavy, medium, or light oil? Myself I would look more towards a more medium oil earlier rolling ball but that's just me and the conditions I bowl on.

The house I bowl at typically has a very consistent shot. Occasionally, the operator will switch things up and oil it a foot less or the same length with a lighter volume......but generally, it's a medium-heavy place.

Next winter, I hope to bowl in tournaments, so I'd imagine I will see quite a variance in lanes, patterns, etc.

I would throw the rocket and see how that performs for you before making too many decisions. At my houses around here I don't see to many people have success with the heavy oil solid balls like the Bad Intentions so you may see a big change with the new house your going to start in. I would go medium early rolling or lighter oil ball just depending if I wanted to offer my self additional shot shapes or cover more conditions.

I think that you should look at expanding your options in terms of surface material and finish. The Rocket is a medium/high RG symmetrical core with a polished hybrid cover material. The Bad Intentions is a low RG symmetrical core with a non-specified cover using the same life extending cover as used in the Deadly Aim (a ball that I hated for just that reason: it couldn't figure out what it wanted to be in terms of how it reacted to the oil vs. the friction). You might want to consider something more aggressive with an asymmetrical core and either a solid or pearl cover. I can highly recommend both the Mastermind Intellect (solid) and the Mastermind Scholar (pearl) from Brunswick through personal experience.
