I signed it. Can't understand why Bowling isn't an Olympic sport with some of the very regional sports that are included at least half the world bowls.

If baseball isn't an Olympic sport, bowling will have a hard time.

Most of the pro's are US with a few other countries sprinkled in there.

Also with the variation in ball technology and oil lane patterns not sure what "standard" they would pick.

Use WTBA patterns or PBA patterns. Bowling is huge in Asia and pretty well established in Europe and making inroads in the Middle East. Bowling is more global than most people know. The sport of bowling is probably stronger in Japan and Korea than in the US.

I signed it as well. It would be great to see bowling gain some more recognition as a competitive sport.

I think it has a long road ahead - what governing body's rules would be adapted? As far as I know there's not an international regulatory body that's recognized by the Olympic committee. There should be enough interest and support behind it to get things moving, at least... but just like the USBC, international organization has to be a lot better before anything really happens. I'd love to see it as an Olympic sport and definitely think it is deserved - grassroots petitioning might be the best way to make things move.

Looks like Bowling made the short list of sports to possibly be added for 2020 Olympics.

After reading the article I noticed something that I had not even considered. Adding bowling provides many economic opportunities for manufacturers. Definitely a plus.
