I know you didn't intend offense, Rob. Which is why i rewrote my response. I've learned a lot from you and your writings.

    1. If you have more bowling balls than you take with you when you bowl, how do you decide what balls to take?
I have some balls that I use at my wood lane houses and some balls that I use at the synthetic lane houses

    2. How many balls do you take with you?
League night I take three two strike one spare on my travel league varying conditions and not always knowing the lane type 5 strike one spare

    3. How do you decide which ball with which to start?
I'll throw both in warmups at least one shot I tend to start with the less aggressive ball but not always.

    4. When it's time to make a ball change, what determines the change you make?
When I get so far inside the less aggressive ball no longer kicks out the corner pins

    5. When you decide to buy a new bowling ball, what criteria do you use to make your choice?
Now I'm usually looking to replace something I already have so I'll make a list of balls with similar characteristics of the ball I'm replacing. I look at core shape and numbers RG and Diff. if similar branded I'll compare the cover stocks type of ball (pearl, hybrid, solid) and talk with my PSO about what he feels would best fit my game.

    1. If you have more bowling balls than you take with you when you bowl, how do you decide what balls to take?
The ones I leave at home are ones that I no longer use, or they have been retired.

    2. How many balls do you take with you?
I take 6 with me at all times in my car. I will sometimes only take 4 into the center, depending on which house I am bowling in. One house has higher friction surface lanes and a lower oil volume so I take extra.

    3. How do you decide which ball with which to start?
I usually use my benchmark ball for that center. If I get a good read with it I stick with it through practice. If I am not getting a good read I will go to another one.

    4. When it's time to make a ball change, what determines the change you make?
When my ball is rolling out, or leaving weak 10 pins even after making lateral or other adjustments on the lane I will make a ball change.

    5. When you decide to buy a new bowling ball, what criteria do you use to make your choice?
The ball will have to fill a gap in my arsenal. If there is a gap to be filled I will purchase, otherwise I stick with what I have until they get retired.

Retiring a ball for me is only when the ball stops being effective for me on the lanes. Could be it just has too much oil in the cover or just doesn't perform the way it used to. I don't go by how many games the ball has on it.
