    vdubtx's idea that you are using your index finger a lot, sounds close. Your probably trying to put rev's on the ball, using the index finger and placing too much pressure on it.

    Some bowlers will place a insert on their index finger to help get some rev's and protect it, They actually make a thing called a Turbo "Rev" just for that.

    FYI, just ordered this from bowlingball.com today!

    My finger hurts like heck this morning, so I hope this will solve the problem.

    I have been using one of the Turbo Revs on my index finger
    since I started back bowling back in 2011 it does help with
    finger pain the one I have is a light green color.
