Over the years there I have used two different kinds. One is black and if I remember correctly you actually iron it on your soles and heals. The other is more like a cork colored that is glued on. I bought them both at pro shops. I don't remember the names but will see if I can find that out.

Most likely the products being referred to are the Master Tru-Slide and Slide Glide.

The Master Tru-Slide is a Teflon pad that is applied to the sole.

The Master Slide Glide is a Nylon sheet that is cut to fit the sole and applied to it.

That is them. I don't use the whole thing I cut off small pieces and put them in strategic places. The whole thing would be like walking on ice. I need a little more slide than the #8 sole and a little help with the heel. Everyone is different. Need to take care of those old knees and that tender hamstring.

They have 2nd gen. Blue/Black one's, but a lot of place's still have the 1st gens. in stock and have not gone through the old inventory just yet.

So for now, order the Black/Red or White/Black if you want the revised TPU-X shoes.
Thanks bowl1820, picked up a new pair today, Black/Red from the pro shop, priced the same as bowlingball.com. Switched the heel to the 7. Kept the 8 on the bottom. Slide was perfect! The shoes come with a slicker 10 bottom which will be useful at other houses that are sticky. Comes with another bottom for slippery approaches. Two pair of laces too.

The comfort of these shoes are "off the meter good".

Thanks fordman1 for explaining the Teflon tape.

Been using them about 3 weeks now and love the comfort and fit. Soft, flexible and after bowling my feet don't hurt. When will they have them for Lefties and Ladies? I will never go back.

I ended up by Brunswick Stealth. Nothing to fancy, but they feel great. Got them online shipped for $70. Got them over the weekend and used them today in league and shot pretty well with them. Sure gives me more comfort and bounce n my step.
