    Default Back from vacation...

Took the family to Walt Disney World. Good times but ended up with 2 weeks with no bowling. To say league was rough the other night would be an understatement. I arrived early to try and get the rust out, but no lanes available. My timing was way off and had some issues getting my thumb out cleanly - had two balls plugged and redrilled while I was on vacation. I got frustrated, which didn't help. By the third game, I decided just to focus on posting my shots and it cleaned everything up quite a bit. Seems I was having some major balance issues and was letting my left arm be lazy.

Nevertheless, the resort hotel was themed kinda fun...

Gonna need to spend some time adjusting the thumbholes on the stuff I had redrilled. This proshop doesn't do oval holes (seems like very few do around here), so Ive had some difficulty with either being to large for the nail to pad, or too small for the knuckle. My span was adjusted pretty significantly, which is taking some getting used to, but it feels so much more comfortable on my hand. Just need to get these thumbholes right.

Here is the plugged spare ball, you can see the big change in span...

You were in my neck of the woods (1 hour north of Mickey Town) and you had good weather to boot. Usually when I went it rained!

They don't do oval thumb inserts?

I should have said my local guys here don't do ovals. The span I switched to seems much more comfortable, but with the circle drill in the slug I can't seem to get the right balance of snugness on my thumb without it being too tight at the knuckle. At the PSO I used to use, they didn't do ovals either, but the guy drilled the hole small and spent a fair amount of time on the sides with a workout tool. All things aside I'm able to get close using some vise protecting tape on my thumb and a fair amount of insert tape. I may use some screened sand paper and open the sides just a little, and perhaps get my thumb slugs done somewhere else in the future.

I didn't get a chance to bowl while in FL, but I may try next time. Lots of places to stop off within reasonable distance from I-95 on the way in.

After some practice. Sure you will be doing what you were. Not better. Always takes a bit when using new equipment or making some changes.
