Monday I was practicing spares without sleepers using my spare ball(Columbia WD) in all cases, right or left side. This worked well as I didn't have to be as concerned about how much I was hooking, how much oil I would be crossing. I just aimed at the pin needed to make the spare. I did go to another ball when there was a sleeper and I needed to hook into it(4-8 for example).

One time at a tournament I left only the head pin. I shot straight at it with plastic for the spare. One of the other bowler's asked "WTH are you doing?"
Easy answer really. If I couldn't hit it on the first ball hooking it why would I think the second ball would be any better? Plus that spare locked him out.

6-10 is hardest thing for me. I try to clip it going cross alley. At times I'll try to hook into it but this combo is a pain for me.
