Default Looking to upgrade my balls

Looking to upgrade my current balls. My current balls are a Roto Grip Outcry and a Storm Ride. These have been my balls for my league play for the last few years. Our league is changing locations. The lanes will be far better than what I have been bowling on for the last 5 years. With the change I would like to get new balls. I do have a local pro shop that always has been a huge help. I just wanted to put the question out there for anyone here. Maybe someone has gone through a change like this. I am a left handed bowler with a 154 average. I throw a faster ball with a " tween " style hook. Low revs. Any thoughts or advise will be helpful. Thanks everyone.

Slow down, buddy! First of all, the Outcry was release on August 26 of 2014, less than 1 1/2 years ago. The Ride was introduced on April 24, 2015, about 8 months ago. You haven't been using these balls for the last few years... you've been using them for the past few MONTHS! Next, both bowling balls are very non-aggressive both in terms of low RG, and Diff. numbers. Finally, when I read your comment that the lanes will be far better than what you've been bowling on for the last five years, I can only cringe... in someone's opinion they will be far better. The only thing that you can count on is that they will be far different. Don't go running out and buying anything until you are actually bowling on these new lanes, and get some imput from a knowledgeable coach or PSO. To do anything else is just throwing your money away.

Good advice, totally agree. Se how they work on the different lanes. Maybe they will work better for you there.

I agree with the Rob also, except I would just add one more ball to your bag something stronger just in case they have heavy oil. One ball won't hurt you. You could even talk to your local proshop owner and ask him about changing the cover stock, which may help you not to have to make a new purchase, unless you just want a new piece, everybody likes new pieces lol.

In the current mind set you would be a "bad" PSO's dream, a money pit to draw from. I could see someone pushing an Alpha Crux or another high end ball on you when your current equipment will serve you well so I would say take Rob's advice on this one. Good Luck at the new house hopefully it will be a good move and not a bait and switch type deal.

Rob is correct until you start bowling on the new conditions you can't judge what those conditions would be. If your current balls are working for you then I wouldn't rush out to make a change just because your getting new lanes or they are putting a new shot out. Play the new condition and adjust accordingly.

No disrespect intended but i would put the surface at 1000 on the outcry and leave the ride the same as box. At that point at least you have a very wide surface difference for ball motion. Then take your 200 dollars and seek out a good coach for multiple lessons which will improve your game much more rapidly based on your current level. Again, not trying to be rude just a suggestion. Good luck with your game.
