If you’ve been waiting for something that has a few more teeth than the original Jackal, your patience is being rewarded in the form of the new Jackal Carnage. This beast matches the proven Predator core (2.46RG, .060Diff) found in the original Jackal with the all-new Coercion XFS solid coverstock. When I first removed this ball from the packaging it was already rolling left, literally hooking out of the box. I put a slightly weaker layout on mine to make it a bit more versatile for the lower volumes I see on a weekly basis; even with this influence I can still see the high strength of this ball. On the fresh I see the ball starting to read the lane just past the arrows, starting its ¾ of the ball flaring trying to find the friction. Once the ball finds (or even creates) a dry spot it goes into a very heavy roll; the breakpoint is ultra smooth and extremely controllable. This roll continues on through the pin deck with ease. I have found the most success with this having smaller laydown-crossing angles as a ball that hooks this early is not meant to loop the lane. My first set with the ball I shot 300-800 by playing out near the friction only covering two boards between my laydown and target at the arrows. If I missed in the ball would grab and tip just enough to carry light; if I missed a bit out the smoothness of the ball blended any ‘jump’ and kept me high-flush instead of through the face. Over all if you need something that will give you the utmost control of the heaviest of volumes without sacrificing power grab yourself a Jackal Carnage and get #OntheProwl.
