Default Using conventional grip to hook

Hi.. In process of going back to one handed hook bowling. And have only used a house plastic ball and conventional grip on holidays ocer last few days, as i do not have acess to my gear. .

Wondering how others have gone using this grip? Im not beginner. Ave 211 two handed.

I'm aware that it does make getting out of ball quicker with more lift a bit harder
    Any thoughts appreciated

While a bowler with a conventional grip can hook the ball it's likely to be a bit harder to do and a bit less revolutions so a smaller amount of hook would probably be the result.
I can understand not having your equipment and experimenting with a house ball but if you are switching back to one handed I would think a fingertip drilled ball would be your bet bet.
