My league missed those same dates, and we knew it would happen before the season started. It was decided before we threw the first ball that we would push the season three weeks later and that was that. Don't know what to think about your situation. Maybe find a different league if you're wanting to improve your game. That's hard to do when you're surrounded by drunks.

I'm 99% sure that any change to league rules that happens after the beginning of the season (when the rules have been voted on and accepted) must be approved by 100% of the team captains. Personally, I'd point this out to the league officers and threaten to take it to the local USBC Association. I think that the issue will probably go away in short order.

    league is scheduled to bowl.
Our house is slick when it comes to skipping the games or extending the season. They simply gave us 2 per game rates, one for 36 weeks (or what ever the normal season was) and a higher one for 33 or 34 weeks (depending on how many holidays are in question). They got their money either way.

We don't have a greedy Corp. owner we are privately owned. We bowl on a Friday night at 8 P.M. this year we hit Christmas and New years. If we would have wanted to just drop to 31 rather than our usual 33 weeks. The bowlers voted to start 2 weeks early to cover the time. We also always bowl on Good Friday and the day after Thanksgiving. These guys would probably go to 35 weeks if asked to.

    Another tidbit that's equally annoying:

The Thursday night league starts one week later than all other leagues at this house because of a local community event that many people attend. There's one week that wouldn't need to be made up.

We too are privately owned. Few years ago they claimed they were tight on money but got a state of the art stereo system installed for the birthday parties. Shows you where their priorities are.
