Thanks for posting the link to that. I finally found the time to watch it. I've witnessed his entire career. I watched his dad on TV as well. I used to have the same style as Pete, high backswing and all.
He had to pull out of the tournament here in Columbus, Ohio because of a bad hip. Probably needs surgery to fix whatever it is. Hope he gets better because I would like a **** at bowling him before he retires.

They are quite right as he is a very nice guy IRL I've bowled against him years ago
in regional PBA tournaments and have beaten him several times in the past. He is
all business on the lanes because that is his livelihood and the way he makes his
living but off of the lanes he is just a regular guy like me or you.

I also enjoyed it and thought it was too short. I watched it online and was thinking it was just a preview for the hour long episode. sucks!

Yeah, they weren't kidding when they said "short". But truth be told how much material is out there. No way they could have filled a half hour show on just Pete Weber. He just doesn't have that cross over appeal.

I disagree. I think they could've done a full, deep-dive feature story on Weber. There's a lot we don't know about the man, such as the "why".

Yeah, but how many casual fans would watch it. Bowling and bowling personalities are still fringe, not for mass consumption.

A Youtube video, sure. A 30-for-30 full length feature, not really.

If ESPN can get viewers for some of the offbeat full-length 30 for 30s (Two Escobars, The Birth of Big Air, Charismatic, etc), finding viewers for a story about a prodigal son, drug-addled, amorous bowler is nothing.

I think they pretty much covered it in the short. He had an alcohol/drug issue and the PBA didn't want him. Microsoft buys PBA and they invite him to be the face of bowling. A few interviews with wife and fellow bowlers, etc...not much else needs to be said. They could have gone into deeper detail but not sure if it would have been that interesting.
