Bowling is one of the activities we do together as a married couple along with many other things. I don't bowl to get rich or become a PBA pro. I do it because it's something we can do together. Personally it has brought us closer.
By the way league bowling only takes up 3 hours. We had the whole weekend to do many activities together as well. Hiking, fishing, going to the gym.

They gave people the option to pre or post bowl.
