Thread: DV8 balls drop in price more than any other manufacturer?

Default DV8 balls drop in price more than any other manufacturer?

I don't know if a few examples mark a trend but I have noticed that DV8 balls drop in price quicker than other manufacturers. Right now you can get the DV8 Vandal for $99 (I believe was $169 new). This is from a competitor site so won't mention. But I have noticed the same with their Thug line balls.

With Storm or EBI they seem to stand a bit firmer with their pricing. Not letting it go to "clearance" as soon.

It could also be that a certain outlet need to liquidate stock of a given ball or line of balls, and the rest follow suit.

FWIW, out of all the ball brands, DV8 is one I see the least. At my usual house, there is more Lanemasters equipment than DV8.
    Current Average: 190

    Hammer Bad Intentions
    Storm Rocket
    Hammer Black Urethane
    Columbia WD Spare Ball

Lane Masters is the swizzle shizzle. The only draw back to these balls are drilling them lol... It'll dull bits faster than the rest. And ruin pins when used. I've cashed more in the last 2.5 years of using this brand vs the bigger brands I had owned. Well, the hyroad made me some money lol...

I owned DV8, and I sold one and gave two of them away. I just didn't match up well with them. The person using it, well she cashed big earlier this month. If I did like dv8 and the prices were lower, I'll be a ball whore again lol

We'll could be the made in Mexico advantage here at $100 probably still profitable.

The only DV8 balls I've ever liked the looks of is the Diva line pretty much everything else I've thought other things looked better. I also think they took a wrong turn with the names a lot of the youth associations frown on young bowlers throwing balls with the name Thug on them.

Good to know they're made in Mexico. That will prevent me from ever buying one.

That's funny. Just so you know Timmy Brunswick, DV8, and Radical are all Brunswick brands and are produced in Mexico.

Good to know. I was under the impression that Brunswick was still American made. Pays to do your homework. I actually gave away the Melee Hook I won on here. That ball just wouldn't hit, no matter what I tried. Now I'm glad it's gone.

I've gotten a LOT of balls on clearance at that "other site" and can tell you the most COMMON balls that get reduced are:

    1) Ebonite
    2) Radical

The ones that almost NEVER are on clearance:
    1) Storm
    2) Rotogrip
    3) Motiv

Track and DV8 and 900Global (pre-Storm buyout)...sometimes. Hammer and Columbia300...not as much...Brunswick rarely. I have a fair amount of Ebonites that were just SO unpopular that they probably had a real hard time moving them. Radical had their old Reaxxx line...and lets just say it wasn't very popular...so those balls quickly went to clearance. But usually if you want Storm...it's like $10 off at best.
