I was thinking maybe downsizing to a Storm Rocket, Roto Grip Hy-Wire or Motiv Paranoia...
But if I can get my equipment to do what I want, I should just leave it alone.... The DV8 Schizo really dont do well with me although I did bowl a 194 with it. Maybe I'm just looking more into it then I should...

One of the best solutions honestly at your average is lessons. We talk about it a lot on here but it's for a reason. Of the ones you listed above go with the rocket. The Paranoia is backend crazy which can be difficult to control. The Hywire is new and I haven't seen it in person yet but from what I'm hearing is pretty big on the backend too.

If you are considering Storm and you can go to a 14# I would. Seems most 13# Storm balls have the same modified centipede core so to me it seems like you would be buying close to the same reaction down lane. Granted the cover stock and friction will have a lot in determining how the ball gets to the backend.

Maybe I am being capt obvious here but I have a question or two.
Your bowing with 3 balls So I assume you know what and when to use them.
Two you said your average was/is 147 but recently bowled a 227.
My third question ties it all together. What are you doing that your average is roughly 4-6 marks or your leaving 3-4 opens a game ?
1 I am not a coach. Just somebody trying to see if I can help another person and put it into a better context. What are you getting another ball to do ?
    2. To me coaching might be the best option at this time.
I mean no disrespect to you. I'm just pointing out that making all your spares will push your average up 30 pins or so.

I think the reason why I'm leaving opens is, I release the ball the same every time, so I think, but the ball just don't do what I want it to do. It always seems by the third game the ball has a mind of its own. So I figure get a Less aggressive ball. Or should I just move a few boards.... I just figure maybe someone here can give some type of guidance...

First off if it's so bad your not hitting the pocket another ball won't help. We change balls to improve carry not because we can't get it to the pocket. lateral adjustments are pretty simple if your missing left (assuming right handed) make 2-1 moves left until your back in the pocket. Typically when moving right you make 1-1 moves but I try not to move right much after initially getting started.

If the ball is hooking inconsistently it's one of three things:

    1. you're not as accurate as you think.
    2. You may be walking right or left on your approach (post your spot and see where your slide foot is at)
    3. your timing is off and your not getting through the ball at the release consistently. (a problem I have quite often)

If in your last game or two or in a different center you are constantly leaving corner pins a different ball might help but trying to use a ball to get to the pocket isn't a good game plan.

There is some over/under reaction to consider too, where if the ball isn't the correct one for the conditions a very slight variance in speed, rpm's, or spot on the lane could result in a through the nose split, or a light hit.

However, that's mostly fine tuning and tweaking. If you're having issues by the third game (but the ball seems OK in games 1 and 2), it's worth making some movements as Amyers said until you can get a more consistent shot into the pins. If, after you're moving around and coming into the pocket regularly, still leaving a bunch of single pins or ugly leaves then it's time for a new ball

True about over under but for me anyway that's more of a problem at the start not something that develops in the 2nd or third game.

Thank you very much... I will NOT be buying a new ball. I will continue to practice with the two that I have.... MAYBE, just to please myself, I will be getting a Medium, Polished Storm Rocket. But not too soon.... Thanks again. I learned a lot....
