    Default Should I or Shouldn't I

So, I have an average of 147, bowl on a all women league. My bowling balls are Storm Crux, just bowled a 223 with. I also, have a DV8 Ruckus Schizo
Both are Asymmetric and for Medium/Heavy lanes. I bought these balls when the bowling house still had wood lanes. Now, they are synthetic lanes.
I am looking into a Medium Ball but a symmetric block. Should I or Shouldn't I change. Or just keep what I have.... Just throwing it out there....

i would stay with what you have, both are strong balls

are you not getting a reaction down lane?

So here's the question: If a ball is a "strong" ball and it starts losing it's energy before it gets to the pins, is it now a "weak" ball? Conversely, if a "weak" ball retains it's energy and demolishes the pins, it it now a "strong" ball?

Please see the article entitled "Weak Ball, Strong Ball, Right Ball, Wrong Ball" in the Bowling ball section of my website: www.Modern-Bowling.com.

I just feel sometimes I really have to work at getting the reaction I want. I thought maybe a medium and symmetrical ball would work better when lanes aren't so oily....

Oh, and a heavier one too. I bowl with a 13 lb now, but want a 14 lb. I used to bowl years ago with a 14 lb ball.

All of my balls are 12 pounders, except for my Ruckus Schizo and that's a 15. I rarely use the Ruckus due to physical limitations, but it's still an excellent ball.

Since I don't know how your balls are drilled that may be one of the issues you have.

It is also possible they need to have oil extracted from them, especially if the Storm is a resin ball. They suck up oil like a sponge, like my Thug Unruly did and once i had the oil extracted I have had zero issues since.

The balls are drilled with the pin above the ring finger and are fingertip. I can't bowl no other way...

OK, so you're drilled the same as I am. Pin up.

I would try throwing at different angles to either have less or more friction for the ball to read on the back end.

I normally target the 2nd arrow for league play until things start changing, and I will go target inside or outside the 2nd board depending on whoever else is bowling. Sometimes I have to target the 2nd arrow from the 26 or 27 board towards the 10.

I wouldn't change the equipment, just the targeting for the conditions.

If you notice your ball isn't reacting you can always have it cleaned and dull it down. Synthetic lanes hold oil longer from my understanding of things, so you should be able to play the same area longer.

Experimenting with something new is not necessarily a bad thing. I also tend to think a lot of bowlers pick more ball than they actually need and end up hurting themselves with it. The DV8 Ruckus Schinzo isn't a super strong ball though even though it is Asymmetric. I really don't favor Asymmetrical cores for lower average bowlers. At worst it's $150 an you update a ball and get a new toy lol.
