    Locked up 1st in the 10th frame of the 3rd game Friday night. Averaged the lowest since the late 1970's. Had a bowler get hot and carry the team the 2nd half he averaged 243+ in the 1st half he was 212. 300 the last game of the last night. My hero! MVP-MVP!

    Our sweepstakes night is tonight so our last official week was last week. I ended at a 209 avg, which is on par from the last two seasons, but shy of my high season avg of 214. I plan on bowling in a singles PBA experience league this summer to help me hone in on hitting my mark more consistently. My hope is to come in next year and average 220+.

    I just finished my Monday night league. We finished around the middle of the pack but over the season I got my average from 206 to 219. Finished 4 pins away from a 220 average which was my goal. I am in a thursday night mens league that I just filled in full time for 6 weeks ago. It still has 5 weeks left but I have a 220 average there. Over the summer I want to practice hitting spares straight on more and building an arsenal of bowling balls. I currently only have the Paradox and the Swerve fx. I want to add a dry oil ball soon and im thinking about getting the track heat. Hopefully I can keep getting better going forward and possibly join some tournaments in the future.

    Also... first post wooo.

    As a follow up--my banquet for Thursday night league served to solidify the decision to stop bowling in the league.

    We won, and by quite a large margin over second place. We didn't do well enough in the second half to finish first again to negate the need for a rolloff, but we comfortably won. It's a 4-man league with 8 teams, $14 per week. My team, for winning, received less than $90 per man. The FOURTH PLACE team won just $27 TOTAL less than us. No way in hell I'm going back, that's absurd.

    My Wednesday night scratch league, 5-man teams (6 total teams), $18 per week, netted each guy on my team $250. The last place team got about $115 per man.
    Current Average: 190

    My Arsenal:
    Hammer Bad Intentions
    Storm Rocket
    Hammer Black Urethane
    Columbia WD Spare Ball

    Well I started my come back from a 12 year layoff and was only able to go 10 weeks before my Hip just got to bad. Since then have had my right hip replaced and left scheduled in oct. I could still throw the ball decent and had my average up to 194 after a weak first 3 weeks. This THS they put out seems easy compared to the shot from the early 2000's when I quit. My team ended up in second place which was nice. I will have to wait till late this year to start again. I was happy with my performance and I still got it. I will average 210-220 on this shot once my body heals up and can start practicing again. Steve
    Current arsenal...Roto Grip Nuclear Cell, Hustle PBR, Roto Grip Gem, Idle Helios and Own It Spare. 300 rev rate, 16 mph off hand, 13.3 tilt,61 degrees rotation pap 4 9/16 over 1 1/8 up.

    The Fall Goals thread was closed....the one league I was in on Mondays had a 100+ game season...which I'm not as used to...so it just wrapped up.

    Goals for 2015 (fall winter):

    1) Always throw a clean game and/or a 550+ series.
    Definitely too lofty a goal. Only accomplished a 550+ 26 times out of 59 series.
    2) Finish Fall/Winter in the top 20% of BOTH leagues in average.
    Finished in the top 30% of Wednesday league and top 25% of the Monday league...but missed the mark a bit.
    3) Increase my strike % from 37% to 55% or higher.
    Definitely too lofty a goal. Finished with a 39%...only a slight improvement.
    4) Increase single-pin spare shooting % from 76% to 83% or higher.
    This was exceptionally disappointing...dropped from 76% to 72%.
    5) Bowl a 266 (or higher) sanctioned game.
    Barely hit this one with a 267 on 10/21/15.

    I guess my goals for Summer Season, since I plan to just sub, will be versions of those above:

    Goals for summer 2016:

    1) Always bowl a 500 series or higher and at least one clean game per series.
    2) Increase my strike % to 40% or higher.
    3) Increase single-pin spare shooting % from 72% to 76% or higher.
    4) Bowl a 270 (or higher) sanctioned game.
    5) Finally bowl a 700 series or higher.
    In Bag: (: .) Zen Master Solid; (: .) Perfect Mindset; (: .) Brunswick Endeavor; (: .) Outer Limits Pearl; (: .) Ebonite Maxim
    USBC#: 8259-59071; USBC Sanctioned Average = 192; Lifetime Average = 172;
    Ball Speed: 14.7mph; Rev. Rate: 240rpm || High Game (sanc.) = 300 (268); High Series (sanc.) = 725 (720); Clean Games: 198

    Smokey this is not 'Nam', this is bowling. There are rules. Proud two-time winner of a bowlingboards.com weekly ball give-away!

    Averaged 187 on Wednesday nights (4 person mixed, more fun than competitive, although it can get quite competitive at times) and a 196 on Thursday night business men's (5 person team, very few women in the league, ultra competitive)

    This is my first year bowling in the thursday league, and it's the first year of me bowling full time in such a serious league. I have bowled in previous years in a competitive travel league, but this year in that league I have only bowled part time, about 36 games out of 84, averaging 192. This summer I am the secretary of Wednesday night 3 person mixed league, and it's my first time trying out secretary. I'm excited though, because I know mostly everyone and my father is secretary of the normal fall Wednesday league and he will be helping me out. I will also be in 2 other leagues, for a total of 3 leagues in 2 different centers. One of the leagues is a gear league, so I will also be getting 2 brand new balls out of summer bowling, and hopefully I can improve my game and spare shooting enough to hit that 200 average across all leagues. It's going to take some work, and I've averaged 200 twice before during summer, but my goal I have set is to average 200 across at least two leagues for the full fall season.

    Nice to read all the replies here. I love hearing about how other league bowlers seasons turned out! Always hate to see these longer 30 week + leagues come to an end for the summer, considering how few people bowl in the summer, but just another few months and we start it all back up again!

    Damn! You must get an awesome deal from your center on lineage. Also, how many weeks? Only having 6 teams Is a bit lackluster, but that's just how league bowling is these days. This league in trying to run only had 6 teams show up on the first night and it's only 3 person teams! although, being 5 man teams and a scratch league, I can see why it is still fun! That's still a good haul for only $18 a week, I'm just really curious what your lineage is

    Posted in my scores thread, but will post here as well since both leagues I am in are completed.

    Average in 2 leagues 223.99 through 186 games. LY was 223.44
    Tuesday night 227.60
    Thursday night 219.37

    High Game 300 on April 12
    High Series 765 on April 26
    Low series 542 on Jan 7
    6 sub 600 series - 1 more than last year.
    35 600+ series
    21 700+ series - same as last year

    First Ball Average 9.34
    Strikes 62%
    Spares 75% (549/732)
    Single Pin spares 92% (404/438)
    *10 pin 86% (178/205) LY was 91%
    *4 pin 96% (60/62) LY as 96%
    *9 pin 94% (47/50) LY was 100%
    *6 pin 81% (9/11)

    Multiple Pins(not including splits) 81% LY was 77%
    * 3-6-10 81% (22/27)
    * 6-10 91% (21/23)
    * 2-8 84% (16/19)
    * 3-6 60% (9/15)
    * 2-4-5 70% (7/10)

    Of my 183 total opens 115 of them were splits.

    While I struck more, my spare conversions really hurt me. Of the 3 most single pin conversions that I have left the past 3 years (10 pin, 4 pin and 9 pin) I left it 40 less times this year and converted in total at only 89.9%.

    My goals for next year are:
    1. Work on 10 pin conversion to bring back into the 91%+ range.
    2. Work on multi pin spares to bring up into 90% range.
    3. No sub 600 series.
    4. Few more 300's and 800 series to add to achievements.
    High Sanctioned Scratch Game - 300(12) Hi Sanctioned Scratch Series - 822(3)
    2016/17 Book Average=221, 2017/18 Composite Average=223
