So I have some good and bad news. The bad news is the better/more consistent you get, the more 10 pins you'll leave as your spares. The good news is the better you get, the easier it is to see why a 10 stays up and how you can adjust to it. Your adjustment really depends on how your ball is travelling through the pins. In the videos/pictures forum there is a really good, informative video demonstrating the difference between a ball that carries vs. a ball that leaves a 10 - and how to adjust. It does a better job showing than I could trying to type it out... give that a look and see if you can find it.
