Ball resurfacing question

How often can you resurface a ball before it is time to retire the ball? Most ball maintenance guides I've read said to do a full resurface about every 60 games.

Your not sanding through the cover stock so don't worry about it. You'll get tired of the ball or it will have absorbed so much oil that resurfacing doesn't work anymore long before you run out of cover to sand

I was bowling next to a guy and he was doing quite well. I looked down at the ball he was using and couldn't see a brand name or model on it. So I asked him which ball he was using. It was a Storm ball as I recall and not that old. Could have been a Marvel something or another. He said that he'd had it resurfaced several times. My guess is that it had really been taken down quite a bit. The ball was working great...

The make/model engraving is pretty shallow. Resurface enough and it's gone.

If your taking the engraving out your taking more off than needed. 30 Seconds on each side with a 500 grit pad to take it down is plenty. I have balls I've resurface 10 times and never removed the engraving. Some people seem to think more is better when it's just unnecessary.
