Thread: Brunswick Vintage Danger Zone

    Default Brunswick Vintage Danger Zone

Today I picked up my new Vintage Danger Zone from Brunswick.

I bought it so that I could have a symetrical ball for Sport/PBA patterns, and came highly recommended to me by Johnny Petraglia, Jr.

I wasn't sure how to have it drilled so I left that up to Johnny.

He drilled it pin up, with a dual angle at 45x5x45.

I used it during the 10 minute practice for the first time to see how it would do, and I was impressed with it on a 42ft THS.

It went longer than my others while reading the mids and friction extremely well, with a nice smooth arc at the end. It hit the pins very hard each time and had a lot of pin action.

I am very excited about using this on the Sport shots and I think it will be an absolute beast!

I hope it works for you . I was thinking about getting one for when the lanes get a little toasty.

    Thank you sir

I bowl on the 9 Tap Tour and when you get on the 3rd squad they are as dried and fried as you can get, and my PSO said it will be pretty darn good on the toasted lanes.

I'm hoping to find out this Sunday when I bowl the third squad again. lol

I've been happy for mine although for my lower speed style it's more of a ball I start with than something for drier lanes although I tend to use this ball more for that too as it carries better than anything in my bag from the deeper angle on the lanes. I've always had issues with carry if I moved in deeper than 16 or 17 with most of my other equipment I've used this ball as deep as 22 and still carried well with it.

The carry, smooth arc and longer length is what I wanted. Not so much for the THS, but for the Sport patterns.

As I said, I was impressed with it during the practice session and tried a few different angles on the THS.

For a ball just above entry level, it's a darn good ball

I considered getting this ball as one of the Get your gear league balls but decided to go with the Paradox Pearl and the Scandal instead. Have heard good things about the Danger Zone but I think it may be to similar to my Hectic which is a ball that I love.

I have to ask two questions: 1. The Hectic has a pearl cover, a low rg of 2.56, and a differential of 0.034, while the Danger Zone has a low rg of 2.50, a Differential of 0.048 and has a solid cover. What makes you think they will be too similar? 2. If you love your Hectic, why would you want to get something so different that you may hate it?

All of the comparisons I've read for these 2 balls have put them very close for a player with my style. Same length, backend, and total hook.
