    Default Queens tournament

Anyone else watch the Queens finals on Thursday night? Tell me how bowling isn't an Olympic sport when the top five women competing are from 5 different nations?

The womans game is much more international than the mens.

    I watched it.

They were making a big deal out of the international presence, but we see that all the time on the men's side on the national tour. Stu, Russell, Belmonte, Osku, Mika (before he retired), etc... You still can't throw a penny in most tournaments without it hitting Monacelli...that guy is always around the leaderboard. The Canadian that won that title (even though he cheated #motivcheats)...international guys are all over the place. The broadcasts usually don't make as much of a big deal out of it as they did at the Queens. And because 2 of the women were Asian...and obviously foreign in appearance....it sort of stood out more.

I was at the Orleans during the Queens Qualifiers and I can assure you there was a large international presence.

I enjoy the women's bowling maybe even more than the men but I don't really watch enough of it to be in the know. I don't remember the foreign contingent being as large on the women's side that it was at this years queens or them having as much success. I have no problem with it the sport needs to be shown as international. I do agree with everyone the new and improved scoring system should be pitched.

Do you mean pitched out the window or pitched as a good selling point? I vote for the window.

I watched the PWBA in person in Detroit last year. The conditions were tough, the day was long, the finals were exciting, especially since I got to watch while sitting on the approach. Disadvantage to that was I couldn't see the scores, but to watch Liz Johnson win while bowling within 10 feet of me was awesome.
Plus, the women are quite approachable. You can walk up to them between matches and throw them a compliment and they don't blow you off. I even got a picture with Shannon O'Keefe, arm around me and everything!
