I still use Dexter Turbos ($30). Better then the basic Ricky shoes and so far so good.
It's amazing how much the prices of bowling shoes differ. My old pair were $20 and I got three years out of them. They're still useable. My new ones retail for around $120 to $200 depending on who is selling them. You don't have to spend a ton to get great shoes.
Just to update, I finally got to use my new Brunswick TPU-X's. These shoes are more comfortable than any running shoe I've ever owned. I never knew until today what is was like to be able to drive into the slide step with power. I've always used ambidextrous shoes and never had that power step. It added 1.5 mph to my shot without any extra effort.
I did switch the slide foot brake heel to a felt heel for more slide. It was really sticky because of the humidity. People next to me poured a pile of baby powder under the scorer's table and constantly stepped in it all morning. I made sure it got cleaned up before I left because they didn't bother.
