I don't get not having a tenth frame. It just seems lazy
Terrible idea. Used on Weber Cup and a few times here.
Basically Strike = automatic 30 pins. Spare is 10+count of first ball.
No reward for stringing strikes together and no 3 balls in 10th frame. Basically scoring for the uninitiated.
So a X-9-9-X would be 78 and would be almost as good as 4 consecutive 9/ frames

isn't this the second or even third thread you've created on the subject?

This topic is DOA. Lets argue about the rules, H\C or something else!

My bad. Guess not much to talk about on bowling
Let's argue about the no balance hole if you have a thumb hole full for no thumb/2 hand bowlers lol
I personally think still worth discussing since as far as I know it was a test when it was first used, and now it's still being used. And it's something affecting our game (although right now just at the pro level) on a continuing basis. we have a new ball thread every week I don't think discussing something from 6+ months ago that's up again as a current topic is a bad thing?
At one time there was a proposal that I thought was interesting. Open frames = 0, closed frame = 10, bowl four frames, but if you strike in the fourth, you keep bowling until you don't strike. The idea was to keep the same relative value of spares and stringing strikes but to make a simple scoring system and fast matches for TV.
