Just curious, was the split in the 5th an over reaction to leaving the 10 pin in the previous frame? And was the split in the ninth just a bad throw or were the lanes transitioning that quickly and you missed it?

Operator error/bad throw. I mostly use a 2000 grit sanded solid with a low flaring layout. This being my second shift of the day, sub for the night league, I chose to use a strong pearl with a medium flaring layout 1500 grit polished. When I miss inside with a pearl, the penalty is greater. That was a good question.
